At the first Spanish-German RYLA seminar on Mallorca, 15 schoolchildren got involved in cleaning polluted beaches. The young people were accompanied by Marja Ritterfeld, ex-governor of D1850 and member of the EndPlasticSoup board. She was invited by the Rotary Club Calvia International.
The young participants made a piece of art from plastic trash they found along the Majorcan beach. It took only a few minutes to find the plastic.
Everybody was shocked by the amount of cigarette butts, fishing lines and microplastic. This piece of art shows the message we want to convey.
We must protect the environment and stop littering into the ocean.
