Art made of plastic: A joint work by the RYLA participants and the artist and Rotarian Hugo Soto.
At the first Spanish-German RYLA seminar on Mallorca, 15 schoolchildren got involved in cleaning up polluted beaches.
The young people were accompanied by Marja Ritterfeld, ex-governor of D1850 and member of the board of EndPlasticSoup. She was invited by the Rotary Club Calvia International.
The young participants created this work of art from plastic waste that they picked up on a beach in just a few minutes. The number of cigarette filters, fishing lines and the amount of microplastics is shocking.
Through the work of art, they want to stop the littering of the oceans and raise awareness.
