What a great fourth EndPlasticSoup Action Day it was last Saturday June 5, 2021. We are so proud!! Actions were organized by many Rotary, Rotaract and Interact Clubs all over the world. Actions in for example Kenia, Philipines, Germany, Norway, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Russia and The Netherlands. Purpose was to to draw attention to the immense problem of plastic waste and pollution. A big problem which we can only solve together.
More than thousand Rotarians and Rotaractors and their friends and families collected many many kilos of waste.They did that while walking, biking, sailing and supping. There were beautiful artistic installations to show how much plastic an average household uses per year, symbolized by swans. Special activities for children were organized. Bingo was played with the PlasticBingo app, bottlecaps were collected and much more! Rotary and Rotaract got a lot of publicity. Showing
in a special, inspiring and creative way that we are People of Action and that we as Rotary, Rotaract care about the environment.
